happy times.... remembering mom

w/ the yulos & montelibanos
mom in a wheelchair-far right

happy memories. this certainly was one of them. mom was
happy and lucid. dad was his old self, and we were surrounded by close cousins; our family, with most of the clan in our canlubang home. this will never happen again, with mom gone seven yrs now, and dad sick and not much wanting to do anything anymore — it's a hard a painful truth. and all i can do is remember those days when i feel homesick. it's feels good to remember because it leaves a smile on my face

yesterday was mommy's birthday. she would have been 77yrs old. the kids and i heard mass and prayed for her soul. we also asked that she guide us, and let us not stray away.

the night before that, i had a wonderful dream of her and her laughter. in my dream, i had the chance of again, seeing her the way she was before she got sick and bed ridden. in my dream, she was full of life! i miss that so much.

happy birthday mom :-) say hi to lolo and lola, to all our titos and titas with you there. i'm sure you all partied "up there" already :-)

gads... your post was touching...i'm sure that your mom was trying to reach out to you - not only to remind you of her bday but to let you know that she's happy where she is and happy about how things have turned out for you and your family...

indeed, those days will probably never happen again, but as you said, we remember and we put a smile on our face. we must try to gather together again first chance we get - us cousins - and have a toast (several!) to the good, happy and relatively carefree days and times. remember Mi, what is important is that we have happy (and some dramatic, e.g. the 1st time senor J and senor Bits met in Canlu, hahahaha!) memories to look back to!

love, regards to J and hugs to the kaboodles...

I cried while I was reading your post...=)

Happy birthday to your mom, Mia dear! I never met her, but through your posts, I get the feeling she's hilarious. Having met YOU though, I know she's a great person. How could she not be if you turned out so well? =)

mi,

you know.. i just don't want to think about my mom because sometimes when i do, i feel like i'm staring into a very very deep and bottomless void - its an empty space that can never be replaced, and my only wish is that someday, i'd like to see her and hug her when im (i hope i'll be blest enough) in heaven... all i can do now is just live in the present and entrust my future to HE who takes care of everything...life is short, Mi.. i just try to live as happily and as well as i could...

love and miss you..

M. Ted
