carmen rules!

it's been almost two weeks since my last blog, and here's why.....

feb 3, 2007. that was date we saved months ago for the birth of carmen ines. so, two weeks prior, i still said yes to gimmiks, worked part time for the galerie and at home for my company and did my usual errands of bank, grocery etc. i even worked friday the jan 26th for rubio's exhibit, then dinner& dessert with sis m, maya, omar and jack the night after (oh, plus sis milet insisted a night cap at bar stop pa pala; remember our wine, maya?) ... i even had massage at home that sunday, the 28th..sarap! and of course our usual sunday mass at 5:30...

jan 29,2007: carmen could not wait any longer! after our 8:30 meeting at the american school for manang's college plans, we went to dr. ann tan for what was supposedly a last routine check up before my ceasarean for feb 3. but after hooking me up to the baby monitor and feeling my tummy, she immediately confirmed my contractions are rapid and continuous (funny thing is i can't feel anything).... and can't wait one more day! the verdict, open me up that afternoon. 5pm. hay grabe! all my plans and schedules for that week were set aside.. my work put on hold and had to call so many people from home. jay did the same. he filed for his leave immediately. both of us were excited and nervous. this is it! at 3pm, we checked in mount elizabeth room 4440 (posed one last time w/ my big tummy pa!) and by 5pm was off to the operating room.

at 6:26pm our bundle of joy & jay's unica hija was born: carmen ines marchadesch jaranilla. 5lbs 5oz. 47cm.
