manang: away, in college. what's it like?

the whole week last week, i was in my "tipid" mode; taking the bus, to work and back. naturally, my aim was to be comfy. so, last wednesday i thought.. oohh yes, i'll borrow manang's gap ballet shoes! ay! ay mali, manang's not here with us anymore:-(

scene 2. carmen waddling the corridor, up and down, calling: pawwwww (pao) nangggg (manang)... pushes the the door of la's room, only to find the place spic n span. and i say... nang is not here anymore tata men... she's in manila na. oblivious.. she still waddles and goes on shouting: nanggggg, pawwwwww.....

one week after our sydney blast, we only had a week together, and she was off to college. how sad is that! we have never, in her 18 yrs, been living apart and i have mixed emotions about it...glad, sad? it really has not hit me yet. all i know is i will miss a few things like:
1. saying: la, tidy and organize your room, now! you can't go out until you do.
2. eat and do ur chores
3. borrowing stuff from one another, especially her gap ballet shoes..

she and pao (for the summer only) flew the first SQ flight out only last 8th. she hugged her tito hey first; already sobbing. then we hugged—hard and long.

la and i don't have the sweetest mom-daughter treatment, but we love each other, for sure. lately too, we formed this bond... and i kinda like it. i know we do get into each other's nerves because they say we 're soo alike, but of late, we kinda hit it off...

it was bitter sweet seeing her go, knowing we won't be living in one roof.

i miss u already la!!! we all do! i am sure (sobrang sure) you miss me too:-) u miss all of us! and i know, you'd hate to admit it, but you will miss singapore. i'm sure you already do....:-)

see you in october, ok???? your room will be waiting.....

Hay naku, Mi! =( I was a bit teary-eyed reading this post. Then again,I'm also sooooooooo sure she misses all of you too. When I first went off to Ateneo, I insisted on staying in a dorm thinking that it was the grown-up thing to do. "FREEDOM!" I thought. Haha. Ayun, on the 1st day, pagkahatid sa'kin ng mom ko, pag-alis niya, I locked myself in my room. Totally did NOT expect it, but as soon as she left, I found myself SOBBING. Hahahahahaha!!! To think they were just in Paranaque and I would actually see them (dad, mom, Bok, Matu and the pups) every weekend. Hay! =D

Still, all these is part of life. You'll BOTH be OK in time. =)

Hope October comes soon though! Hi to the cousin and Pao. Kisses for Tata Men! Isn't she just sooooooooooo adorable? =)

hi mia, don't worry... you and dani will get over the separation phase.. and then she will start getting busy in school and meeting new people and developing new friends and in no time at all, she will start having a life of her own.. it was hard for me too, when i realized that laya was really growing up na talaga - and wanted to be by herself. connie had to warn me that she's really not a little girl anymore, no longer papa's girl... she's laya. and a woman na talaga. not to scare you, but pretty soon, dani will be that - a woman with a separate life all her own. but that doesn't mean that your bond will ever be broken.. in some ways it will be stronger but you will one day, ease into the thought that indeed, you've given birth to a human being, an individual with her own character and personality - and you're going to love that thought, im pretty sure of that! in the meantime, i sympathize with your missing dani
