in my 43 years, there was never a day i had to live without a help. imagine?! well, i just survived 8 days without one, and ? i am ok!!! in fact better than ok. with a husband away on travel, a fifteen year old & three year old in tow, i did manage to, (and with flying colors mind you) to:
- keep a running and workout routine
- clean the house (kitchen & toilets everyday!!!) -- not just clean but organize too
- cook a few meals --- well prepare is more like it
- do the laundry as scheduled
- take care of menca poo --- bath, let her eat, bring her to & from school!
- do the grocery
but all these, with the help of my goody goody Pao:-) thanks son!
there's a lot i discovered on this 8-day experience. that i cannot just not clean. it is compulsory to do so even when i am exhausted! by the end of the day, i feel better when i have cleaned than not. call it obsession? hmmmm i guess!? like when i don't clean the toilet, i imagine that when i open to bowl, cockroaches will swarm my seat when i pee-- so i make sure toilet bowls are cleaned everyday, no fail!
i also feel empowered when i have cleaned! hahhahaha.. it's a different high and control that it's more of stress reliever than anything.
i also feel than if i skip a clean or leave a bed unkept, or a disorganized sofa, i have let my family....
after 8days of doing these, i think i don't mind another 8 days....... yet of course, having help is also a nicer story:-)
