one week of bliss & bonding: sydney!

in a nutshell:
my kutos and i (except the newest kuto, carmen) left for our much awaited vacation in a rush and dash— with exhibits and show deadlines hanging, kids finishing up their final exams with last minute dance shows. we also met up with tito hey, who just ended his week long annual aussie training. after the 8 hour flight, sydney welcomed us with it's version of open arms: perfect weather!

our hosts too, the bernardino's (tito loy, tita carla and louie) welcomed us into

their lovely new 2 storey, 4 bedroom home at botanica in lidcombe, nsw. plus, they arranged a
fantastic one-week itinerary; the perfect balance of sightseeing and less of the shopping. in a week, we have been to and seen so much of sydney; more than we asked for, really.

oh, and the food! my gosh, tito loy was the perfect chef. cooking his lamb and steak for us, plus bringing us to his fave eating spots (which i will elaborate more in my next posts. ok clue: granville chicken!!!!) and yes, we pigged out!

the couple also sparked our interest with no other than, TFC! hahahhaha.. being so far away from home, they found comfort in watching pinoy flicks and shows in the one and only "ka pamilya" :-) so after a days work for them and a rendezvous for us, we all gathered in their family room, the grown ups sipping wine and the kids having junk food; with all the oooss and aaahhhs and reactions to tita carla's lobo and halalakhakan, watching tito loy's singing bee and wowoweee! (hahahhaha let's see in a month, baka mag pakabit na kami)

it was really one-week of pure bliss! it was such fun just laughing and being silly with jay, la and pao, and everyday was an unexpected adventure. we each had our favorite places, which i will show in the my next posts. so, again await for them......

of course, just shooting away and practicing with my camera and new lenses was pure ecstasy for me!

no dramas! too easy! no worries... ur alright! ....fairdinkum(ano yon?! ewan ko nga eh) but those are the phrases we heard and picked it in the past week. apparently life in the "down under" is work till u drop, but relax is the ultimate reward. hmmmm, i like that concept and, i think i can do that :-) as tito loy would say, and i like his motto: u only live once.. go for it! kaya nga wine everynight! plus steak, lamb and good food all the way.....

just a week or two ago, jay dropped the news that his transfer to, most probably australia, might happen sooner than later. i was so resistant and sad. but now, a week in sydney gave me new perspective of what it's like staying in aussie: not bad at all! fairdinkum!

ps. more sydney posts to follow........

hi mi,

great post!!!! grabe no, who would have thought you would go there (or that there is possibility that jay might end up there). i saw the "singi-gang" for awhile about two weeks ago in ger and frans' house although it was cut short (i had to go home) but as you well know, sila carlo and rhea as well as mickey are waiting nalang for their aussie thing. hay sige.....we will visit nalang when you are all there. hey, im sure you'd love australia rather than some other place where there's nobody there you know. oh by the way, so you left lang carmen with yaya? will wait for your next post.......
